Obviously the parliament if one of the crown jewel of Budapest. It is a wonderful building that is cheap to visit and a must see if you are in Budapest. It is very easy to access via metro or tram (the tram pass in front so it is great to have a good view of the parliament and it also pass on the side of the Danube so overall great way to see the city). You must receive in advance otherwise it will be hard to have tours in your language plus reservation is mandatory. Please keep in mind that they will be a airport security gate so be aware of what is in your backpack. The tickets include a museum that is at the entrance that is about Hungarian politics with free audio-guide please do not miss it ! It is very interesting. The guide also explains well about the history of the building and you are able to see the Hungarian crown !

Must see in Budapest. Outside of the building is spectacular. Inside is also magnificent. Reach in history. You must visit inside by a guided tour.

Building is beautiful no matter which angle you see. The best time to visit is in the morning and late evening especially from the boat. You can also visit it from inside but only with the tour which lasts about 45minutes. Tour is organized in different language but needs to booked in advance if for English.

Guided your review.Book online ahead of time as slots go quickly. I had an English tour, although Hungarian and Spanish are available. The tour lasts 45 minutes.Highlights include the Grand staircase, the debate room and the holy crown. The guard shows you around and the audio guide gives you tons of information. No photos permitted of the crown. We were lucky to see a changing of the guard performance too.You finish in a small museum. No lockers/cloakroom available. Time slots are fixed. There is no bathroom during the tour. Security is very high.Tickets were 5000HUF. Overall a very enjoyable tour indeed.

The most popular tourist destination in Budapest. I was astounding its beauty. One of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen in my life. Hundreds of birds flying over the parliament building at night which creates a fairytale effect. Don't guess... Those birds are gulls!

One of the main highlights of the city and rightly placed. It is one of the most beautiful locations to have a government office. There is a lot of history that goes behind this structure. The building is picturesque and it looks amazing from the other side of the river. I am a fan of its exteriors. The cafes under the buildings are well kept and cheaper compared to a comparable cafe you would find in the city. It is definitely something one can't miss.

Well worth the guided tour. Beautiful from the outside as well as the inside. The tour lasts about an hour and is available in many languages (with audio guides). We even had the luck of witnessing a change of the guard in the crown room. At the end of the tour you end up in a room with an exhibition about the history of the building that features many interesting and explicative videos.

HUNGARIAN PARLIAMENTThe Hungarian Parliament Building serves as the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary, standing as a prominent symbol of the country and a popular attraction in Budapest. It is located on Kossuth Square, which houses the official main entrance, on the Pest side of the city, positioned along the eastern bank of the Danube River. Designed in a neo-Gothic style with a Renaissance Revival architecture dome, the building was inaugurated in 1902 and holds the distinction of being Hungary's largest. Following World War II, the legislature transitioned to a unicameral system, and presently, only a small portion of the building is utilized by the government. During the era of the People's Republic of Hungary, a red star adorned the dome's apex; however, this was removed in 1990 after the fall of communism. A notable feature of the structure is the hexadecagonal (sixteen-sided) central hall, within which the Holy Crown of Hungary is exhibited beneath the expansive central dome. Tickets for visiting the Parliament Building and its Museum can be purchased at the Parliament Visitor Centre, located underground to the north of the Parliament building. These tickets grant access during specific time slots, exclusively through guided tours. As you explore, you'll journey through impressive halls, including the Assembly Hall, with the central focus being the Holy Crown of Hungary. Photography is generally permitted, except within the main hall where the Holy Crown is displayed.
