Two of us took Richard's lesson for absolute beginners. Little wonder that the gymnast among us spectacularly succeeded, while I spectacularly failed. But that's hardly Richard's fault, and I gave him carte blanche to instruct his good student rather than me. Gear is in good shape, Richard explains all on a dryland simulator first, then onto the water - which was a brisk 21C on a (mostly) sunny day in mid-June. Good thing Richard has a couple of small-ish cut-off wetsuits to lend, but while one fit well, mine was pretty tight everywhere. Bring your own if you can - or wait until August when Balaton's water reaches just add salt and paprika and you have your fish meal" stage at 30C. Richard speaks Hungarian (obviously) and German well
