Update: After several months of emailing them, I have not heard of any response.✨️If you don't spend more money with them, then they don't seem to care. The descriptions online seem to not match. If you want wine tasting, go to a nearby wine bar. I don't recommend it. ✨️An unfortunate experience happened, as we had booked 4 wine bottle tastings for an hour (~15€ per person). We were greeted by our sommelier, Christian, briefly at the beginning to be shuffled into a back room. Unlike what the ad stated, he had already chosen 4 wines for us rather than allowing us to choose 2 whites and 2 reds. It's an awkward start, and when asked why this was the case, it was difficult for him to answer and simply stated that is what he thought would give a good profile of the wine in Hungary. Which seemed more like a cover for the wines that were already chosen for the group in the larger room. Then, after he poured our white wines, he quickly rushed through the region and the grape variant and completely left the room. We were stunned as we had no interactions with the sommelier about Hungarian wine history, regional differences, drinking culture, etc. The sommelier didn't even ask us if we knew anything about wine or had gone to a tasting before. After some time, he pops back into the room and gives us two red wines. After asking questions him more on the regions, they are short answers. Like when we asked what the regional differences that influence the flavour are. The reply was simply that they add different characters like the regions in the South are warmer and can produce reds. After such a short interaction, he was alouf again to be disappearing. After some time of finishing our wine, we and the other guest sat and discussed how we should leave, as he hadn't come back. We wondered if we should wait for a formal dismissal. It's an awkward start to an awkward end.Honestly speaking, they have a good assortment of wine and a good relationship with some wine producers, but it seems like if you don't spend top dollar, then they don't really care for you. The wine bar Marlou has a very friendly sommelier and is happy to discuss with you anytime about the regional wines and all at the same price as here.It was a sad experience that we had so much hope for to try to learn more about the culture around wine production in Hungary. Yet all we gained was some muddled wine tastings in a cellar.

Lovely tasting experience in the wine cellar with very experienced sommelier. Also had cheeses and meats and you’re able to purchase some of these in their shop across the road. Who knew Hungary had such good wines!

Thoroughly enjoyed my 1.5-hr tasting. Our host (sorry, I can't remember his name) was very personable and knowledgeable, answering all questions we had. He managed us 7 women quite well. LOL. The wines were very diverse and the pours generous. I enjoyed the paired cheeses, but the meats were a bit funky for my taste. I left feeling (besides full) I had experienced a nice variety of Hungarian wines.

We enjoyed a lovely wine tasting here during our trip to Budapest. The staff was very knowledgeable and the atmosphere was nice. The amazing wines were also accompanied by cheese and meat from small local producers. We ended up buying a couple of bottles of wine afterwards and also visited their wine shop just across te street the next day. Would definitely recommend this experience for anyone visiting Budapest

Nice selection of wine and pairing. Two things I did not like about the experience1) some of us had to turn our heads for an uncomfortable amount of time to see the host. Seating arrangement should have been better2) 3 whites and 3 red wines are described and left to us to taste them. I would have preferred to talk about each wine before tasting them in order as it was too much information to process. By the end of the tasting, it was largely a guessing game of matching the wines to the description. But the host was nice and funny and they served some amazing pumpkin seed oil with the bread. Overall, can visit for the great selection and knowledge of Hungarian wine

Carlos ran an incredible tasting - so knowledgeable about the best kept secret that is the Hungarian wine industry. Ágoston prepared a generous charcuterie and cheese platter for each of us - with lots of fresh bread to pair with the generous pours of wine. My favourite experience in Budapest as a first time traveler - in a 160 year old wine/vodka cellar! Had a great time meeting fellow travellers…sharing stories for our love of wine and food. We highly recommend - it is great value and completely worth it! We loved the Rajnai Rizling (riesling), house made gin and vodka! xx

If you enjoy wine and you are in Budapest, you simply must book a wine tasting at the Tasting Table Cellar. I plan wine tours for a living and can tell you, at Tasting Table, you'll get to try 8 different wines from across Hungary - it's like a mini tour of the country. Go prepared to buy some bottles (and transport them home) because you'll taste wines you can not get anywhere but Hungary.

Booked the wine tasting with cheese and charcuterie as part of my partners 50th birthday trip to Budapest. We were both really impressed, the venue was a cool cellar and wine shop, perfectly laid out for small groups. The information was informative but informal and delivered in a nice way with a sense of humour which was nice…I learnt some facts about Budapest that I didn’t know before, as well as learning about the wine. Great selection of cheese and meat too.I was very glad we went and I would recommend doing this if you’re in town. Great place, great host, great value
