We recently took a cooking class with Marti a few days ago in Budapest and had a wonderful experience. I had booked the class a few months ago and from the start, Marti was very responsive and helpful via email leading up to the class. She provided directions and shared a photo of the door to the apartment to make it very easy to find. When we entered the building, we found her outside ready to welcome us to the kitchen. The kitchen was neat, clean, and well decorated. We had individual stations for us to prepare food. Marti very effortlessly guided us throughout the cooking process, all the while having great conversation with her about the Hungarian culture, talking about food, family, and personal experiences. The food was equally amazing. We chose menu E which included creamy potato soup with smoked sausage as a starter, stuffed cabbage as the entree and poppy seed bread dumpling as dessert with a custard sauce. The starter was warm and comforting, the stuffed cabbage was fun to prepare and delicious, and the dessert was perfect to top it all off. We took some home with us and it tasted even better the next day.All in all, a great experience. If you are looking for something different to do while visiting a city and want to feel a little bit closer to the people and culture there, I highly recommend this experience. Afterward, Marti shared photos with us that she captured during the class as well as the recipes that I will most certainly be making when I return home.

Chef Marti was a phenomenal host and teacher, and now we have a friend in Budapest! She has an extraordinary amount of knowledge, and generously communicates it through the three-course cooking experience. It is hands on. You will prepare the meal. We made a Creamy Potato soup with Sausage, Traditional Hungarian Stuffed Cabbage, and Poppy Seed Bread Pudding with Vanilla Custard. With Chef Marti's expertise and care guiding us, the meal was delicious. Marti has a warm and vibrant soul that makes this a must do" on any visit to Budapest!"

My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Chef Marti for our first travel" cooking class. We toured the Budapest Central Market (so much to see there) and then went on to her kitchen. There were five of us in the group and Marti did an excellent job of getting everyone involved and socializing. She provided us with palinka

Highlight of our trip to Budapest! Marti, the host, was a phenomenal host who brought us along for a market tour and explained all the ingredients. She clearly communicated each step while cooking and helped us cook a delicious lunch meal. Her studio is well equipped and has everything you need to tackle Hungarian dishes. The portions are very generous and there was plenty of leftovers. I highly recommend her cooking class for anyone interested in typical Hungarian dishes.

Chef Marti is an inspiring chef and a fantastic teacher. We spent four hours with her making traditional Langos, Strudel and Dobos cake, and we feel we will be able to make these delicious treats at home with her recipes. The atmosphere was really fun and relaxed. Her English was clear and precise. You will have a great experience with her.

Our cooking class with Marti was very interactive and informative. Marti had us take part in every step of the strudel making process - from preparing the dough and fillings to stretching the dough and rolling up the pastry (and of course the eating). Marti is very friendly and enthusiastic and is passionate about sharing her love of Hungarian food. She passes along the recipes and tips taught by her mother and grandmother. I would highly recommend this experience.
