I had a great time taking the silkscreen class at the Valami studio. I heard about this through my hostel, so I wanted a unique souvenir instead of something mass-produced in a store. It's a bit further out from city center but it doesn't take much time to get to on the tram, and there are a bunch of cafes and restaurants around there, plus a mall.They provide two options in design for you to print onto a t-shirt. However I'm a difficult customer and wanted to create my own design. The owner/instructor Gergo was very accommodating and helped me to bring my design to life. It was very nice of him to help me design something unique even though it took up much more time, so you can tell that they care about the creative process there. They have a cute studio next door to the workshop that has a lot of art, prints, pottery, and jewelry created by local artists. I would have loved to purchase more things if I had room in my luggage. Support local artists and visit the Valami studio.
